Shape Your Future SYF Apprentices Blog Post

 

Shape Your Future have recruited 6 bright young apprentices through the government’s Kickstart Scheme for young people aged 18-24 to get into work. SYF is all for self-development, health and wellbeing, so we will encourage our apprentices to shape their future with us. The recruits will aim to learn and develop while helping SYF to grow over the next 6 months of working with us. Let’s meet them!

 

Rhys – Strength & Conditioning Coach & Nutritionist

Rhys is a level three qualified personal trainer, as well as kettlebell and padworks instructor. He has a background in boxing, jiu jitsu, and rock climbing, as well as power lifting since being a teenager. Having worked as a butcher for nearly ten years he’s very passionate about cooking healthy tasty meals that hit all the macros!

 

 

Josh – Rugby Coach

Josh is a former rugby player for Leicester Tigers Academy, Staffordshire rugby, Newcastle rugby and Stafford rugby club. Josh is hoping this apprenticeship will help him build confidence and rebuild his work ethic. Sport is his passion and so is coaching. Coaching has been a struggle during lockdown but Josh looks forward to meeting everyone involved in the sessions. As a coach, he hopes to gain experience and learn new skills he can bring to different aspects of the sport. Josh aims to bring his experience of the game to everyone involved and hopes he can motivate youngsters to join the rugby community!

 

Sam – Rugby Coach

Sam is an experienced rugby coach and player, having played rugby for 12 years and been a volunteer coach for 5 years, so she is willing to pass on her vast knowledge of the game to others. She started playing at Longton RUFC and currently plays for Lichfield Ladies RUFC. She has also played for Staffordshire County and Midlands. Like Josh, she can’t wait to get back to playing and coaching!

 

 

Hamish – SYF Supplements Marketing & Sales, Rugby Development Officer

Hamish graduated university with a degree in International Business Management and went on to do a masters in Digital Marketing. He played national league rugby in both England and Scotland with Clinical Director Tom and loves all things rugby. Hamish also competed with horses up and down the UK including at various Championships. Hamish is looking forward to growing the sport alongside the Supplements side of Shape Your Future!

 

 

Kyle – SYF Massage Marketing & Sales

Kyle is hoping to become marketing professional after graduating with a 1st class degree in Marketing, PR & Advertising. He is looking to shape his future by working on the clinic’s website, social media and digital presence. Kyle studied in Derby, where he competed for Derby Uni at Ultimate Frisbee. He has a sporting background as he played football throughout his school years, including for Stoke-on-Trent schoolboys. An interesting thing about Kyle is he was a ballboy at Stoke City home games for 7 seasons from 2007 until 2013!

 

 

Hannah – Receptionist & Admin

Hannah trained at Signal 1 through her college course in Multimedia and Radio and has worked at a local insurance company. Hannah is now qualified in Business Administration and is using her skills on the job. She is always talkative and friendly and understands each client’s individual needs. Hannah had complex spinal surgery at 17 (below) and also receives ongoing therapy for hyperlordosis, which means she can emphasise with people who have had serious injuries and can help people feel welcome in the surgery along their rehab journey!
